first_imgYuvraj Singh may have quit international cricket but the former India all-rounder is turning heads with his performances in the second season of the ongoing Global T20 Canada in Brampton.On Saturday, Yuvraj Singh sent the crowd at CAA Centre in Ontario in a tizzy by showing glimpses of his vintage self. The Toronto Royals captain smashed 51 from just 22 balls but his valiant effort went in vain as his team lost their penultimate group-stage match to Brampton Wolves.George Munsey’s 66 helped Brampton Wolves post a mammoth total of 222 for 6 in 20 overs. In reply, Yuvraj-led Toronto Nationals got off to a strong start Brendon McCullum getting a quickfire 36.Yuvraj Singh, who walked in at No.4, started attack from the word go. The elegant left-hander took his fans down the memory lane as he was hitting sixes at will. Yuvraj hit five sixes and 3 boundaries and went on to score his first half-century of the T20 tournament in Canada.Yuvraj perished in the 16th over and Toronto Nationals eventually fell short of the target by 11 runs.Having hit a flurry of boundaries, Yuvraj said he was happy to get the runs in front of his Indian Premier League coach Mahela Jayawardene, who watched the Global T20 Canada match from the stands.”I was happy to see my IPL coach, he wasn’t happy with my bat swing during IPL. Chasing a target of 196 runs, Anshuman Rath and Navneet Dhaliwal provided their side with a brilliant start. Dhaliwal got out after scoring 19 runs but Rath went on to score his half-century.Dhaliwal’s dismissal had brought Mohammad Hafeez out on the field. Hafeez too scored his half-century but soon after Kaleem Sana got hold of him (55).James Neesham then accompanied Rath and both played brilliantly and kept on adding runs to the scoreboard.
