Goodwill Ambassador Project Manager Yvans Morisseau and the City of Miami Beach Police Department briefed on logistics about 300 Miami-Dade County Goodwill Ambassadors to work in South Beach this Memorial Day weekend. The goodwill ambassadors will be wearing identifiable lime green shirts and the team leaders royal blue shirts. The volunteers will assist County residents and visitors until Monday, May 28. The Goodwill Ambassador Program under the Office of Community Advocacy is made up of volunteer county employees who work as ambassadors during large events, demonstrations, rallies, and elections. Morisseau makes sure more the volunteers receive annual training covering crowd control, customer service, mediation, conflict resolution, and crisis management; there is also specific briefing before deployments. The volunteers for this event are serving at the request of the County Mayor Carlos Gimenez.The Office of Community Advocacy is charged with making Miami-Dade County “One Community” that embraces our diverse and unique population. UK Retail revenue growth of £26.5m or 2% was driven by 4% growth in machines offset by the continued decline in horse racing and greyhound OTC stakes.Mullen explained: “Both Ladbrokes and Coral entered the merger in November with good momentum, and together delivered a strong full year financial performance. As a management team we are now looking to the future. We are focussed on delivering on the full potential of the merger through the strengths of the Ladbrokes Coral brands, enhanced scale, operational efficiencies and leveraging the best of both businesses.”The group has already upgraded its cost synergy expectations to deliver £100m per annum by 2019, rather than the £65m previously expected. Accountability for integration delivery sits with the selected leaders of each business area, with oversight and support provided by the executive team under a separate governance structure led by executive Deputy Chairman Carl Leaver. Mullen said that this structure has enabled rigorous scrutiny to be applied to all areas of the integration and ensure that sufficiently stretching targets are set. Immediate integration priorities include the transition to one unified IT system, completing the integration of functions and moving of teams out of the Rayners Lane office in Harrow, and in the longer term, implementing a new electronic point of sale (EPOS) system in the retail estate.Mullen added: “Our plan is simple. OTC net revenue was down 1% with OTC stakes down by 4%. A staking decline in racing and greyhound was partially offset by growth of 12% in football stakes (5% excluding Euro 2016) primarily driven by the investment in SSBTs. OTC stakes were also adversely impacted by the more stringent anti-money laundering processes that were implemented at the start of the year.

Ahead of its Capital Markets Day (6 December), Stockholm-listed industry affiliate network Catena Media has announced that it has reset its enterprise long-term financial targets, as corporate governance seeks to extract optimal value for its investors.Updating stakeholders, Catena’s Board has set the enterprise target of generating a group EBITDA in excess of €100 million (£90 million) by the year 2020.In order to achieve its corporate 2020 target, Catena governance states that the company will sustain its ‘accelerated’ double digit percentage growth, driven by the combination of increased organic revenues and strategic acquisitions expanding its affiliate network capabilities.Setting its corporate goal, Catena governance details that its short to medium term goal is to operate with Net Debt / EBITDA* in the range 1.5-2.5x. The amount a society can raise is subject to limits of £4m sales per draw, £10m sales per year and a maximum prize of £400,000.“Our preferred options would allow a tenfold increase in the amount that a large society lottery can raise per year, bringing the annual limit to £100m. The per draw sales limit would rise to £5m and the maximum prize to £500,000.”Tracey Crouch, Minister for Sport and Civil Society, said: “Society lotteries make a vital difference to communities up and down the country. They raise hundreds of millions of pounds every year, supporting our veterans, lifeboats, hospices, air ambulances and many other great causes.“They are an important fundraising tool for charities and we want to ensure that both society lotteries and the National Lottery are able to thrive now and in the future.”Society lotteries, such as those run by charities The Health Lottery and People’s Postcode Lottery, raised over £255 million for good causes in 2016/17.The move would allow charities and community groups to increase fundraising methods through society lotteries, while protecting the National Lottery’s ability to raise money for good causes.
